Hey all,
I scanned in some text and I want to create a vector of it. There should be a way to do this automatically...

After touchup, the text is pretty much black + white and almost solid.

Theres slight color artifacts in the background and the text isnt quite 100% solid... but theyre really close enough.

Anyways, how could I transform the text to solid vector format? Ideally I want to make it a font. It should be polygonal, straight and flat sides, etc. Any ideas? (In either Photoshop or Illustrator or any other program)

If you want to convert a raster image to vector, all you have to do is this: Place the image into Illustrator, and then in the top toolbar, click on the "Live Trace" button. That should make it vector for you.

off course if there really simple shapes its far better to take the pentool and on a new layer, trace it yourself --> recreate the shapes so to speak.
