My site http://www.nexusoftheinternet.com needs a new design. I'm very new to coding with HTML and CSS so that in the current state is the best I can do. I am not interested in buying templates as I don't feel that will benefit my coding skills.
Does anyone recommend any tutorials on coding attractive sites?

I would just take the time to look around Pixel2Life in the tutorials section. Also, I found a website that I visit alot just to look at the new tutorials and see whats out there the URL is http://www.tutorialized.com I hope I've been helpful for you.

Get Photoshop so you can make some nice graphics!
If just using block colours, maybe get some bold colours, looking at templates is a good way to get good colours!
