hey guys!

i made a logo in illustrator but i never save it as an ai. file instead i save it as png. and when i try to print it huge it get all distorded si i have to trace it all over again but i have a little problem now... i need to cut half the shape of that semi oval cuz' i make it with 2 shapes, one with the color of the logo and one with the color of the background, and i just want the semi oval and get rid of the other that is masking the logo, how can i extract the red shape from the black one in the 1st image to get the figure of the 2nd image??? i try a cliping mask but didnt work so... any help would be great!

put red on top and then choose "minus front" in the erm... (great another amnesia attack) dunno palette.
1 of the palettes at your right side has several options to combine drawn shapes (a bit like the "compount path" command in the object menu), i am searching for the name of that palette... erm... think it was "pathfinder" r something.

yeah it is the pathfinder tab :) but the red has to be in the back cuz' the option is "minus back"... anyway thanks for the help :lol:
