Is PHP same as HTML? because I have Adobe Dreamweaver and when I create a PHP page, I don't see any difference between it and the HTML page. Also what other functions does PHP have that HTML doesn't?

html is generally used for web design while php is a programming language. There are allot of differences. Just read some html tutorials and some php tutorials, you'll see a WORLD of differences.

PHP and HTML aren't even in the same class of languages.

HTML is a markup language used to creatively layout text-based documents (think of Microsoft Word, only not).

For a description of what PHP is, you can refer to the following link:
http://www.php.net/m...ntroduction.php

p.s. Don't use dreamweaver as a base for the way in which you interpret the world of website development. It is ignorant to the way things actually work. The reason for this topic appears to have been spurred by the fact that when creating a new HTML/PHP document, they appear to be the same. The above link should clear up the reasoning behind why that is so.

p.s.s. If anything i said sounds harsh, i don't intend it to be
