I currently have awardspace as a freehost. However, I have been unable to upload the .mp3 files (or .mp3 files in a zipped folder) that I need to (we are a podcasting site, so it's essential, and we would like to avoid file sharing sites). I may end up switching hosts because of this. Does anyone know of a free host with these options:
-Allows the uploading of .mp3 files
-No ads

Look no further than: http://getdropbox.com/home - An awesome little tool that allows you to upload folders straight from your computer folders.
I use it a lot. And you have 2.0GB of space too! It accepts any filetype and any filesize (As long as it is below 2.0GB)
