Well latly I've been working on a new character for my end of year demo real for my classes and I figured I should try and model something harder and push myself to make it look great... so here is the starting point... I've been working on her for 2 days now and this is what I've got so far... every detail is modeled in right now... I have no maps of any kind on yet... the colors on it are only to tell apart different materials, those wont even be close to the actual colors...

and I also posted up the concept I'm kinda going for but making changes as I go along... the concept drawing is thanks to a friend in my class... I told him what kinda character I wanted and showed him key features I wanted and then he ended up coming up with this... so I would like to thank him for it....

I hope you like it up to date and I should be updating it regularly so keep dropping by and tell me what you think... and tell me if their are any changes you think need to be done...

thanks again for you time and hope you like it

Woah, that makes my human attempts look well.. duff..

I do have a couple of points to make tho
1 - Poly distribution - you seem to have allot of polies for the booby straps compared to the rest of the model, especially towards the back, seeing as how small this detail is it seems like a waste, or rather, in-efficient use.

2 - The bottom inside of the ear looks a little off, like the (dunno what its called.. embossed.. um) "border" is to thick, shouldn't it fade into the earlobe rather than creating the obvious height difference.
lol bad description.. will find an ear pic.

And to show a 3d one we have a mudbox 1

awsome observation... always can count on you :)...

for the first one... yeah I did know about the higher poly straps... I just had them there for now but I should rework them before I forget... I also wanted to change it because I wanna kinda add wrinkle style things where the tacks are... to make it look like they are actually forcing to keep that material there....

and the ear well... it's technically gonna get covered by the hair but I guess I should still fix that eh?

thanks for the crit shiv

theirs actually missing geometry hahaha! I get rid of all the extra geometry that you don't see under other pieces like the plastic chest piece and what not. but I haven't fixed up the shoulder part yet haha... your the first one to catch that!... I guess I can't cheat for my WIP with you eh? haha

Dam tiny pics :'(
Looks like i will have to grab a trial of xsi again or try and get maya le to work on here so i can learn that!

Whens the deadline?

And no, i am an eagle :D

Edit-
I just realized, you aren't following the style of your concept.
Your concept has stylized proportions, wacky leg width and curve and stuff.... your model is very down to earth, normal...
was this a conscious decision to change it, or accidental because your afraid to push it or did the teacher tell you to?

I like your concepts scales more, i would maybe beef up the legs a bit but apart from that.. its more fun :P

Lilman - I need moar updates kthankx!
