First I've heard about it as well, although I have been away from everything for the entire weekend. Interesting.

Just watching the whole interaction at the UN Sitting...
Anybody see the CNN Corespondent speak to the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili? The corespondent was so interruptive it seemed well odd, speaking to a person of such respect that way...
I find it very strange maybe because of my age too (17) seeing so much through television on what is happening, I don't mean video footage of the scenary in Gori, South Ossetia or other areas near Tbilisi...
I mean actually watching all these political parties and people speaking out.. It's very interesting, it's like seeing things, similar to what I have learned in History lessons in real time.
Who ever hasn't heard much look it up, here are some rather fitting articles about the situation, to inform on some detail.. Otherwise, CNN has been updating just about every minute of their air-time as far as I can tell.

The Georgian president proposed a ceasefire on Saturday but Russia said it wants Georgia to first pull its troops from South Ossetia and sign a pledge not to use force against the breakaway province.

Not very many opinions on this topic or haven't you all been watching the news?
Is it just me, or is there no hault to russia's actions at this moment of time? It seems watching the latest update, they are pushing in further to the heart of Georgia.
Here the latest Update from CNN

The Russian military advanced into Georgia on two fronts Monday, entering cities outside the breakaway provinces that have been the centers of fighting.
Saakashvili later accused Russia of ethnic cleansing -- a charge the Russians have repeatedly leveled at Georgia, and which both sides deny.
He said Georgian troops had downed "18 or 19" Russian warplanes, killed hundreds of Russian troops and repelled a Russian assault on the Georgian city of Gori, in Georgia near South Ossetia.
Saakashvili claimed Russia had 500 tanks and 25,000 troops inside Georgia. A Russian defense ministry said only four planes had been lost.

well to be honest, i see why georgia did what they did, they want their land back.
but what russia is doing now is wrong, getting ready to land troops on the coast of georgia and putting up a second front which they shouldnt be doing since they announced they wouldnt be going further than the provinces that were taken over.
to be honest, im with georgia on this one

The thing that makes me mad about this issue. Is that innocent people are getting killed, for matters that are between the leaders of both countries.

If there's a war, there's almost undoubtedly going to be civilian casualties no matter what for those very reasons... you just don't want it to be you

yesterday what russia did really annoyed me, they agreed on ceasefire for georgia to retreat then bombed them as they were retreating and within their own country what a big way to win a war

To be honest, I can't watch the videos you posted in the links, it won't load for me but I'm sure both sides have done some shit, no one is at right.. Never is in war and quite blatantly it's obvious russian media because of it's opinion is going to spread things differently than other countries.
By the way, did you JUST sign up to post to this thread? Because you haven't even introduced yourself on P2L Forums yet :-O
