I recently created a 800X400 masthead banner for my myspace profile page. However it was a still (gif) image. I've checked the spacing and placement and everything is looking good. Now, i wanted to up the anty and make it a flash presentation. I create one last night with a tool, and now have a swf file to work with as well as the html source code.

my flash presentation meets the specified size of the banner area, but i'm having difficulty embedding, replacing the still image.

My amateur coding knowledge consists of the following:

1) editing html code produced for an image, i.e. linking properties, image assignment, etc.
2) i've also been able to remove links/images embedded by vendors for free generation tools.
3) my knowledge base is more design related, and coding is a little new to me. most of my progress has been from just tweaking code through trial and error and seeing what the result looks like.

I know with still images you can just change the image source direct url link. I tried a free flash hosting site and pasted the direct link, but i got nothing. i'm sure there's more to it than that. i also tried converting the flash file to gif, but it wasn't loading, maybe a filesize issue.

If someone could assist me with this task, it would really open up my control and flexibility with my marketing agenda, and propell me forward

thanks in advance

I'm by no means a Flash expert so please correct me if I'm wrong everyone. First of all it needs to be exported to a swf file. then you can embed the file by using the following code

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" width="800" height="400" src="LINK_TO_YOUR_FLASH_FILE.swf" />

Just replace that LINK_TO_YOUR_FLASH_FILE.swf to the correct address.
