hey all,
I was wondering what you guys think of wacoms? I like the idea, but they are fairly expensive, even with an educational discount. Does anyone here have one? if so what model, and is/was it worth the cost?

Could you possibly provide a link to what you are talking about?

Ohhhhhh those things ^_^. My dentist has one and he let me play on it. It is actually very cool, I love the touch screen capabilities :).

I would say it is if you are going to be doing a lot of touch screen stuff. You can't really type or anything when its closed so it is really lame.

I guess we aren't talkin about the same thing then :-p. My dentist had this laptop thing that basically had a touch screen on one side incase you wanted to do mouse work. :-p

yea guys...the touch screen ones are like....$5000....you can get one of the lesser Wacom tablets for like...$200...they are REALLY usefull if you do any sort of art that goes beyond stamping and 3d rendering...ur dentist probably has one of those laptops with a swivel screen for like...note taking...my dad (a cardiologist) has one of those in his office that he uses...they are really cool and definitely worth the price...but i would check out e-bay before anything else...much cheaper ^_^

Wacom tablets are excellent, I managed to find a second hand one worth £300 for only 40, working with no faults.

You mean the wacom tablet in the picture? Yeah, I've got an A4 version, but I didn't buy it from Wacom.

I've been looking into one, it'd make my life easier but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to spend that kind of money...

I have a wacom I obtained in a silent auction as only one other person in town really knew what it was so I got it at a bargain price :)

Don't use it much but they are worth having, EBay does some good deals on them.

I don't really use mine that much either, but it makes life a lot easier when I do.
