Just "bought" the new Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democray... only been waiting 15 years for this album. Anyone else pick it up yet? I'm listening to it for the first time right now and the first 3 tracks are meh... too much processing on Axl's voice and too much backup. 4th song is on now 'Street of Dreams' and it's pretty good although a slower song. They kept that signature voice of his clean for this track at least.

Very unique tracks though I have to say... 'If the World' is starting now, not your usual GNR fodder that's for sure. Anyhow I'll keep this on for a bit and see how the rest sounds.

G and F'N R beaaaaaaaaaaatch!

*Does the crazy little Axl Rose dance thingy*... Nah don't like the band.. I didn't pick up the new AC/DC album neither... shame on me, but I can't wait for the new Marilyn Manson material :-) With Twiggy on guitar again.

Haven't picked it up, my only motivation is the song "Better", though i will admit, the title track isn't bad.

No music shops for miles out here lol but I'll have a hunt around when I get home cus they're one of my old fav bands, although those songs don't sound like ones I'll like.

Hadn't heard of this even being released but found some info on http://en.wikipedia....inese_Democracy if anyone wants to read up.

Hey hey hey Donna... Respect the guy, he's rather intelligent and is a great artist when it comes to music.. Check out these two videos, they change a lot of peoples mind about him and his potential.

Tom just no, the album is crap and rushed.

I still prefer the old GnR stuff, thou the title track isnt too bad, album just doesnt interest me as its not the true GnR.

If you want something to listen to Dan try this scotland band called Logan or an austrain band called Centao orrrrrr even better, a new band called Tequila Rockin'Bird who are really good!

I've not heard it, I'm a big fan of GnR, heard pretty much the same thing from other people about it not being the same as their previous album, might get it soon, not bothered if I dont, I dont think it could ever come close to their previous stufff....

I heard a song on the radio over GnR. Not impressed. Sounds too mainstream, and nothing like he used to be.

GNR will never come close to equaling its past awesomeness. By far one of the great bands of all time but I think they should just move on. Heck music everywhere for quite some time has stunk so i was not expecting much. Few exceptions here and there but meh

They could of just released there old album a second time IMO

Guns N Roses might have a potential to find back the tunes from the past, but Slash and Duff Mckagan have to make comeback. But thats never gonna happen. Itīs sad to see the causes of one man and his stupid ego. Chinese Democrazy could at least have sold more than 2500 records if Guns N Roses were Guns N Roses. Not Axl Roseīs solo-project.

Love it, Its not appetite, Its not illusion. Favorite song off it is "Sorry" and "There was a time"

I didnt think axl still had the singing chops till i seen this a while back
(sorry if links aren't allowed... i cant remember lol)
Think that was around 2002, but he out-did how he sung it in the 80's when he was 20 years younger. Which even if you hate the guy, is respectable.

And btw, whats with everyone caring about slash? ill give it to him for having style but by no means was he the band.... Look at velvet revolver, a complete soul less machine of garbage. Least the New axl rose project has some soul, think that shows where the talent was.

Well I've been listening to this album for a week or so, and must say it's really grown on me, I dig it a lot :D The only song I don't like is Shackler's Revenge but the rest is pretty awesome :)

And for the record, Duff is a tool lol! I remember when they would do band interviews with GNR and Slash was so articulate and obviously extremely intelligent, then Duff would answer something in grunts and giggles. The contrast was hilarious.
