cam someone help me with this
i am trying to follow this http://www.pixel2life.com/publish/tutorial...n_to_your_site/

and enter this code to my site, where do i place the code, do i have to creat new db for this, not sure where to start.

you place it wherever you want.. No you do not need a new db, if your selecting from a news table, then change the `table` to `news` or whatever you call it.
