hey guys, im new to the site and just wanted to know what effects in photoshop or anything else have been done to these pics of the band NINE INCH NAILS

I REALLY like the pictures and just wondering how i can get that sort of a shot

I'm no good at professional photography so I'd probably achieve that effect by changing the Curves in PS and maybe the contrast a little. I'm sure something similar is possible, just by working with lighting in a Studio..
