Last week I developed a fairly robust video player, and while I can't post code here because of client/developer confidentiality agreements I can explain my problem. Basically I pull an FLV into flash (just used import video), have an event listener waiting for metadata recieved that makes an array of all the cue points embedded in the flv at encode time. When I upload this to a remote site, it (sometimes) fails to recieve metadata for the flv, which in turn causes the little playback indicator arrow to not show up on the seekBar as well as several other problems.

My question is this:

Has anyone run across this? Metadata not being recieved correctly for an FLV? (If you refresh it usually seems to load just fine).

I'm using CS3 and AS3, I haven't tried manually attaching the video using a netstream object yet, which could be the solution rather than using import video.

It's a rather obscure problem, I have yet to find a "solid" solution, but I figured I would at least run it by the flash forum here.
