If you have a picture with a white background and you want to get ride of the white background and add a dark background instead how do you get ride of the white background compleaty because when i put it on my dark background the white edges show up and it looks horrible.
Btw im using Adobe Photoshop CS

magic wand tool, select the pictures layer, click on the white, click delete

But when i add it to a dark background there is still a white border outside the picture,

Thats when your gonna probably need the eraser tool.
Use a 1pixel pencil eraser (thats what its called) and zoom in on your pic like 300% while its on the dark bacground. And erase the white pixels.

or even simpler,
After sing the Magic Wand tool got to Select->Modify->Expand and enter 1-2 px. Then fill that selection and the white border should be gone
