Hey, I recently took a second look at some photographs I shot at my summer job. I had a summer job at the island of Texel (The Dutch people here know it)

Well I'd like to be there too and I see a potential in this idea. You could still fix some things:
1) Keep horizon stright - ther is nothing worse than tilted horizon
2) study the light - you have very hrash light there, it causes overexposure (white area in sea) - try to find a time where you can minimize it or another angle when light helps you out
3) Study the rule of thirds - the position of the person is little uncomfortable for eye, move him little more to right

Good job anyway! :(

It's a beauty. The sea looks warm, and calm.
