I have read lots of posts and no one can give a clear answer. I will only want to be using it to make 3D Abstract. What is the best program for this?

Also what program was the banner for this site made in?

Pretty much any of the large 3d apps out there are good for making abstracts. I believe someone said that the abstract in the banner for P2L was made in bryce.

Good Luck Learning all 3 at once :P You will probably have better chances of actually becoming good by learning one program. Once you know the basics of a program like c4d or 3ds max, you may find that other programs are very similar (most 3d apps have similar functions because many of them are all used for similar purposes). Learning 3 different software layouts and programs at once might be a little nerve wrecking...

well bryce makes abstracts like the old p2l banner real easy. 3ds max makes some that are a lil dif style more with rough edges (can be smoothed though) and cinema 4d im not sure about.

Bryce might have a lot more presets making it appear easier, but if you know what your aiming for, you can probably create something just as nice in either of the other two programs in about half the time once you consider rendering.

i dont like c4d for making precise models though because the graph system isnt as simple as id like, but for all i know the other programs might be just as complicated

3ds max has some good renders, those in squrel's post right above you can do in 3ds max, pls a bit more, I prefer 3ds max, because it has all the stuff BRyce can do(except landscape) and what cinema 4d can do.

But there is another one I have tried out, Source 3D some people that have used it say its more powerful then 3ds max, others say it sucks, its personal preference, Source 3D Can do TONS of things, and best part about it is...its FREE!

I like Cinema 4D and Bryce, They are alot easier than 3D studio max. The tutorials for Cinema 4D on greycobra are awesome and so easy to follow. I cant wait for more tutorials on 4dtutorials.com

I want to make stuff like the old p2l banner.

there is no best program. the best program for you to use is the one where you have more skills. Note that the way you adapt to the program functions is also important.

Personally, i prefer Cinema 4D, mainly because it's a program that makes sense in my head. the way it works, the whole interface is simple and easy to use.
