Hi, it's been a while since I checked in, but I just wanted to compliment Dan and NG on the new site! It turned out to be a pretty baby. :P

I've been here a couple of times before, and not that the old versions were any less, but this is sheer brilliance :)

I logged in just to say "hot DAMN good job" guys! Hehe, it's a very sexy design and colorful as always. Forum skin is good as well. Must have taken a lot of motivation (caffeine) to finish this baby, but it was well worth the wait.

Been along time since I posted here maybe over 2-3 years depending, but I just wanna say the site is looking good, and I hope to use it more often when I get back into other college work.

Looks great, but I have two points I am not completely satisfied with.

1. What's up with frameset after clicking a tutorial link? I mean everything feels Web2.0, except the frameset... You are probably trying to promote voting, but it just bugs me. I'd love to see a setting to disable this feature (or at least an option to view the original link (see Google image search for an example)).

2. Graceful degradation. Or lack of it (e.g. on the login link).

1. Coming soon, already on the to do list.

2. Pretty much 99% of our users have full javascript and flash enabled so downward compatability is not high on the list right now. As we mentioned when we first asked if we should go ahead and launch v5 even if it was incomplete we received an overwelming yes (100% votes yes to an as-is launch) but that folks would have to deal with some areas that are not complete. That's one of them :)

We will work on non javascript support and other areas like that, but we do want to get the full functionality for the majority of our users working first.

Thanks!
Dan

Amazing! Just amazing!

You've done a fine job Faken, and Nick, the graphics and overall coding are brilliant. I will once again try my best to be active throughout the community whether it is to help out others or to get help myself. Everything just works and I'm loving all the features.

Great work overall guys, I'm proud to be a P2L'er! :P

Oh, and I forgot to ask, will P2L be upgraded to IP.Board 3? :)

Thanks for the reply, Faken. I understand you guys have other priorities.

I spotted only one bug yet. On the iPhone the pagination looks weird, the background is positioned right (minor CSS problem). In the PC-version of Safari it looks the way it should.

Gary, please read this thread  They will stick with version 2 for now.

Maybe image-rollovers on the main navigation would be the final touch it is missing

I would like to congratulate P2L on v5, it looks absolutely stunning, and I must say it is one of the best looking designs I have ever seen, so a great big hand of thank you to Nick for doing a great job

Thanks again everyone, your feedback has been so encouraging, it's just awesome. We all really appreciate it and can pretty much say this is out most successful launch to date despite all the missing stuff lol! Seems like pretty much everyone is digging the new design over the previous version whereas in the past it was always kind of 50/50 lol!

Did Nick design and code the forum too? Or did the same guy create it that skinned v2 - 4?

Ghost didn't code the current version (he did the previous versions though). Jamie did. But it's far from being finished.

I did the basic design files for the forums based on the main site design.
