We finally have a new pope! I'm an atheist so it doesn't really matter to me, but Yay!

I am a Catholic, and to tell the truth was slightly disappointed with the decision. I believe the only way for change, is to vote in a more liberal Pope, who has more realistic views tackling homosexuality, and contraception, etc. Oh well, you can't have it all... Plus, Pope Benedict isn't excatly the youngest candiate, at 78, how much has he got left in him?

ya...i think that once they get to be 80 they arre no longer eligible for being chosen...cutting it close there! oh well, doesn't affect me (athiest). With you all the way Jag, times have changed, and the curch must change with them

today on school (the netherlands) there was a remour he was a folower of hitler or something ... oh no he was in the hitler jugend. I hope he does his job well.

He was forced to be a Hitler youth as a child...but obviously he went the other way on that one after the war.

All of the children at that time were forced to be in the Hitler youth or their family were to be punished. Most children actually liked being in the Hitler youth as they had no clue what they were being trained for.
