Hi, if anyone knows what this type of effect is called and where I can find tutorials to learn this, or if someone could write on for me, would greatly appreciate any help!

the effect im looking more for is the second picture, how it makes the kicker seem like he's in action, with the designs coming out from around him, I need to make a design for the university's taekwondo club tshirt and was hoping to use this effect.

thanks!

Well in the first picture the author is using a C4D(google it or try looking on deviantart) which is blended in picture using a eraser(erasing unnecesary parts) and blending modes(Screen, soft light, overlay etc.). That would be the easy way to do it.

In the second picture tools used(that I see) are brush tool with various settings(you can get to the brush settings menu by hitting F5 on your keyboard) used to make lines and dots(duh) in the picture, smudge tool(just a guess) that was used to smudge some parts of the fighter(The artist probably duplicated the layer with the fighter and smudfed the one underneath), and the last is the pen tool used to make those lines(when you draw a path you go to paths menu and using a right click on your path click stroke). And that would be the harder way...

I hope this helped a bit

EDIT: This was a explanation for photoshop users, if you are using gimp or some other program then I can't really help you
