 I have seen some pictures where the guy have taken a new photo, of himself or others, and blended it into an old painting. Like a victorian noble or something like that. And i wonder how do they do it? take a new colorful picture anno 2010 and transform the face so it blends in with the texture and colors of a painting. Maybe im not explaining this good enough but lets say i want to transform a picture of my face into this

 but of course i will use a picture with higher resolution and stuff like that, but how do i get my face to look like the painting? i have looked many places after a tutorial, but i cant write what i look fo accurate enough. So can someone help me?

How to get my face into a picture like the link, and make it look like the surface of the painting after? i have come so far to get a face on the pictures body, but after that i cant get anything "realistic" to shiny, too smooth skin, to new.. \

First of all, don't think that is just an ordinary copy/paste procedure. Every piece of art requires some knowledge and some time.

I'd Like to see some of those pictures you mentioned, and maybe I could tell you what the guy did(Stock photo and final image).

My first guess would be a complete rebrush of your face so it has similar colors as the painting. Or at least lowering the contrast of the face and then using Hue/Saturation to get the color that you want...

Thank you for tha answer, and NO i dont think its copy/paste, its to detailed for that. Cause i strugle to get the colors right, not to copy/paste whatever. I can always turn the whole piece to black n'grey but still the face-part would be different, more glossier and not in the same pattern as the rest.
And offcourse its silly of me to paste a request here to learn something from those who can use photoshop, so i will maybe stick to my "paint" on windows.
