Play around with the Magic Eraser and Magic Wand tools. If they don't work, try the Extract filter.

I'd just zoom in and use a tiny eraser and work away at it ;)

Quality work takes time. I've seen myself take hours to properly extract a subject from a photo when doing print work for a client in order to get a smooth cutout.

there is no easy way to cut out an image anyway (if you want it to look nice) all the methods take time, you can use the Magnetic Lasso tool, Magic Wand, or Eraser, but all of them take loads of patients if you want to be satisfied w/the outcome...

For the record, it's neither. It's my job to moderate.

k see if u really wanna reach ur full ps potential u gotta be patient- super patient- I'm tha most impatient dude u'll find but wen it coms to ps i'll spend as many hours as possible to do wat i planned on doin, kno'm sayin?I usually use the lasso at 10px feather for extracting, but for down to da core amazing extraction go to filter>extract its the best way.

I recommend the pen method, most effetive would be the masking method though.
