how about some kind of weekly model... for c4d...
a fairly simple model that gets poeple to try different parts of cinema 4d.. so that they can try and make something and learn from it....
it wouldnt need a poll... although it might be nice to see the best.....
and i think it would be nice as poeple can ask
"hey ------ how did you do that bit??"
and the guy can go
"well first off..........."

it wouldnt be a compo... just something where poeple can develop there skills. and when they run out of ideas they have something to turn to....

it shouldnt just be for cinema 4d. all 3d apps
cause i prefer 3ds max to cinema 4d

well as time passes and this site keeps growing and growing maybe it would expand to that. but i like shivmoos idea.

I have to agree with you on this one, if we give this, more people would want to have similar things and would whine "well you let the 3d guys do it". I can see the workload of P2L staff going way up to make sure everything was done properly... but I'll support whatever decision Administration comes up with

thats why you make someone like shivmoo who has been around for a while mod for that section. not access to mod anywhere else. it wouldnt hurt p2l it would just make room for more people with interests in web design but also 3d to have fun. then when someone else asks for a section for there similar ideas to this one. there section they make someone mod for just that section and if its not being run right faken or someone shuts it down. it wouldnt be much more work since there would be a specific mod for that section. and since staff isnt paid around here it wouldnt cost any more. i think that makes since.

also maybe if the whole weekly thing doesnt go so well the mod for the "3d section" or whatever section could have like lil weekly, biweekly or monthly competitions with no prize other then recognition. i know i like to model and just never know what to model. this would just be an idea though. modify it if u like to get something that could happen.

Well I see the good points of this and the bad points of this. I vote in favor of it (even though I cant model nothing to save my life ) if the staff doesnt mind the extra load.

same here, im a true noob at c4d, im good at abstract, but when it comes to precise modeling, i couldn't model a block. but i think this would be a nice idea and would add a lot to the site, and like cory said, if shivmoo or another veteran modded it, it would be much of a hassle to the rest of the staff

trying to make shure this doesnt get dropped...
it seems none of the admin's have had there say.... i wasnt seeing it as a battle thing... far from it... its a model something thing...
i run out of ideas constantly... if i had the chance of doing something that others where doing and trying to push myself so it was recognisable.. then i probably would try harder....

i have seen it done before on another site... it was a great success story.. i saw 1 guy start from pretty basic stuff... then he improved as poeple pointed out errors and the third thing he did was awesome...
the photoshop guys can have there own... i just dont see what they would do... it seems the photoshopping is all layouts and sigs... the 3d seems to be abstract... and then a few proper models...

anyway..... the basic structure woulc be something like
weekly/monthly/fortnight (whatever is choson)
----->week-1--( moddeling a kettle )
---------->------->referance images
general moddeling chat
shivmoo's entry
fillivour fogs entry



anyway... i hope you guys think about it

I think it's a very good idea. And yeah, it could work fine. But then P2L isn't known as a 3D forums.
