I'd like to request a tutorial on how to set up a personal host. Example:
I run my own personal-home server and would like to host a couple friends.
Their domains would be something like domain.com/user or user.domain.com they're probably the same (in code I mean)

Whats needed:
A login
A uploader
(probably forgetting something else)

It would be great to see such a tutorial, not only for me but for others out there who would like to do the same thing.

Well yes ^_^ I already have my own 'server' setup. Apache with php/mysql.

I was just requesting on how one would go about scripting a login, and upload process so my friends that I allow can upload to their directories via their browser. :)

Use an FTP Server.

There are plenty out there for free or shareware :P

Then make every users ftp go to the directory where their stuff is hosted B)

Ah yes B) I could always do it that way as well. In fact I believe I have a ftp server somewhere on one of these disks. :P
Although I still would like to see a tutorial somewhere on php/sql scripting one for my non-ftp people. But the ftp serv will have to do for now
Besides if they cant figure Ftp out they can always email me a folder with their content and I can add it for em. :P
