Links open in iframe and not new window and 1 more

my links are opening in my iframe and not in a new window and i cant get words beside my links without not being a part of the link...it goes under or above the image...wen it goes beside it becomes part of the link and i dont want that cause the colours of the link look like **** on my temp..plz help..im using dreamweaver

also i forgot to add this...how do i make a download...like how do i make the url come up as a download instead of a link in the browser

if the link is in the iframe and you want it to change the outside page then you must target the _parent.

and how wud i target the _parent...like where wud i put it...and i still cant separate the text from the link...itsa an image link but i wantt he text to stay normal...or can sumone tell me how to change the link colours in dreamweaver plz

right click on the page somewhere and select page properties should be at the very bottom. the link colors will be there. now to make the link to go _parent go to the iframe page with the link and click on the link like if you were going to change where it links to and there should be a target drop down menu. select _parent then for the link and pic thing just put a space between your pic and your text. if that doesnt work go to the code and move the link ending tags.

k guys nvm i got it thanks for the _blank / _parent help and the link help...if you do kno about downloads can you give me some kind of input on how to do it...i havnt got a clue lol thx

np. and for dl the file. if its something other then an html... or picture file you just set the link strait to it and that will work (pretty sure been a while since i done that).

ive got videos and pictures that i want people to download but i dont kno how to set it out as a download file...

if u have a zip file, it will download, just put one file in to a zip and it will work fine

i dont know any other files that download

o ok so i just put them in winzip and wen they go to the url it will come up as a download

To change link colors in DW, press Ctrl and J to open Page properties, and you can change font/ link/ active link etc. from there. Dont think anyone answered that question anyway
