First I wish to thank everyone for your kindness in dealing with a going senile senior newbie. Second what I’m about; I have purchased CorelDraw graphic suit x6 so that I can refine my artwork for screen printing. I have zero experience with Coreldraw and am in the process of teaching myself, which having only seven functional brain cells left is a daunting task.
Here's what I am hoping a kind soul could lend some advice on: I am attempting to scan black on white paper artwork into Coreldraw; This goes well. My scan options are Document or Photo, I have used both. Gray scale, color, or Black/white have used all. JPG, PNG, or TIF, have used all 300psi.
What happens is this I acquire image with no problem, once on my work space it is a bitmap and I can use my Corel tools on it, however once I trace Bitmap I lose all ability to alter the artwork. Example I have a Monogram that I wish to refine, I scan and then trace bitmap, looks good so far, but if I use my Pick tool and then Eraser the eraser brings up an error message that “Eraser can not select an object” bottom line I can do nothing to the artwork with any of my tools, except to select with Pick tool and move the entire thing around. The white is obviously still there event though o checked of delete back ground during the Bit trace. At this point I am stymied, and not sure which way to proceed. Any thoughts would be of great help.
Thank you
God Bless and have great day
Bill
