I'm working hard at sorting submissions tonight and I've pretty much declined every tutorial submitted on May 19th and 20th and I'm about to start the 21st. The quality of tutorials is just terrible guys... what's going on?

So now just to avoid the emails of ppl asking about their tutorials, I will not allow people to just rehash tired tutorials and submit them to load up on traffic. If you want some nice free traffic and exposure, at least take the time to create an original tutorial, and not like the 300 or so I've just declined tonight.

Every day, I see at least 5 copies of the following (They are deleted on sight):

- Scan lines and/or patterns
- Multi-color backgrounds for sigs
- Poor sig tutorials
- Shiney plastic or glass
- cut out sigs
- pixel font tutorials
- plain basic orbs
- anything to do with basic tools
- any tutorial with no "in-between" screenshots or images
- tutorials with nudity, swearing etc...

- How to use PHP includes
- How to show User IP, Browser, dte, time, page generation time etc etc... if your script is 2 lines long, it will be declined.

Seriously guys... search the index and if you see 10 copies of your tutorial, it will NOT BE ACCEPTED. If you want to have your tutorials listed, make it original and at least proof read your work. A little effort goes a long way.

A final note... 2 word descriptions are deleted on the spot. I rename 99.9% of the tutorials submitted, but if I can't figure out what your tutorial is about by the submitted description, I will delete it on sight.

Sorry folks... too many complaints about the quality of the tutorials and I'm getting a little irritated with people just rehashing the same 20 tutorials over and over again. Time to tighten our belts

Its not kewl at all, its very off putting to the people reading, if your a site owner remove those comments your problaby also loosing members.

If I read a tut I don't wanna see a half naked person or some member swearing at another.

Really its tacky & unprofessional and reflects badly on your site.

yeah its really annoying when people write a tutorial and they dont use proper grammar or they make it hard to understand what theyre going on about...i dont worry about grammar etc if its just posting on the forum but when ur writing a tutorial u should make sure everythings at least spelt properly

I think that it might be wise to direct people looking for new tutorial ideas to the tutorial requests forum (not necessarily only here of course). I get quite a few emails asking how to come up with original tutorials, and my usual responce is that I try to find a subject that someone is having trouble with, and then showing them how to accomplish what it is they are looking for.

Not only will you come up with more original tutorials this way, but you will surely be helping someone who has requested it

ye i agree, but I did submit a few which i have never seen on any tutorial sites before but it got declined.
Anyway i tried submiting more earlier and it didnt come up on the waiting list on my sourcesite.

But anyway ye im kind of sick of loads of mulitcolour tutorials.

Topic title has nothing to do with the actual tutorial itself.
A tut with 2 lines of text is not a tutorial.
Bad grammar.
Lack of images when they can be used.
Nudity.
Bad language.
Already 50 tuts of the same.

There is many other reasons why and all the ones mentioned above, I have seen a few of the rejected ones and they are bad.

If you feel yours were rejected unfairly use the contact page to ask why also adding the urls, but I see your on trial staff for Twod so we maybe able to help you where your going wrong.

and I can't do any tutorials for the twodded trial because my bryce isn't working (It should be ok again in a few days)

Try getting a demoversion to use until yours works again. As far as I know you can use ll the features for a limited amount of days

Well in my opnion the tutorial section should be re-organised*. I was looking through some tutorials for Adobe Photoshop, and well most are crap. You can find the same tutorial at least 2-5 times. All should include pictures so even the most basic user can complete the tutorial and feel good. I see that is what you were getting at, hopefuly it gets cleaned up. The quality needs to increase...

Ps: I said each tut should include pics. Well if it is coding it should include the code snip-it.

I very much agree with you guys, and also this is why P2L is better than others (I'm not sucking up). Because if you visit other tutorial websites, you'll notice that you will find around 20 of the same tutorial, and it does get amazingly frusrating. So I say, keep up the stern filtering

yea, this is actually a real problem I notice a ways back. You get this a lot in Photoshop. You need to try to get people to submit tutorials for categories with few, forexample, Im trying to get some written for the FL studio one.

i like the words, "A little effort goes a long way" cause its so true. Half the tutorials i see are very repetitive. Ive been noticing things that arnt listed and once i get my new version of my site up im guna make a bunch of tuts for u guys to fill in some of the tuts that i havnt seen. Good words Faken so true keep up the work on the site its about the best one ive seen ever.
