Laters have called it by other names, but that's the actual name.
XHTML, as stated again, is Xtensible Hyper Text Markup Language.
XML, therefore, is Xtensible Markup Language.
CGI is Common Gateway Interface.
ASP is Active Server Pages.
And a random guy just walked past talking to himself.

Common usage:
You're in a business meeting and someone proposes an idiotic suggestion and you say "Well Bob, it looks like we have a GFY situation.".
And yes, I've used it in a real meeting with about 50 people... 49 people knew what I meant, the exec had no clue and just agreed with me.

**has a look**
Here, quotes fro ma few forums
1.) warcraft mistake and then the word just stuck.
----------------------------
A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."
Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."
It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force
---------------
Saying that, some forums:
a. A prominent quake player mis spelled "owned" and the new word "pwned" was adopted by people who thought it was "1337".
Contrary to popular belief, "pwned" did not originate in Warcraft. A top Quake player mispelled "owned" and the term quickly spread to less players and eventually to nearly the entire population of online gamers. The word is usually used in online FPS and RTS games
A corrupted version of the word "owned". Originated from warcraft when a designer spelled owned wrong. Instead of it saying (INSTERT NAME HERE) has been Owned, it said (INSERT NAME HERE) has been pwned.
I dunno, pretty 50/50... make your own minds up, lol.
