i know that its an expenisve thing and keeping sigs under 60k is a fine policy, but could some moderators and regular members lighten up a litte? every time a new sig is posted in the sig showroom it seems like the second post is saying "(some comment about the sig) and its 58.91k, watch out!" its almost like a race to tell the guy ur sig is too big, and that has become more of a topic than the actuall sig itself. ive also noticed a good portion of the members have "sig removed by _____" (no names :P ). maybe could the mods or admins just use the private message system to deal with sig size so people arent distracted by arguing over how to compress a sig instead of telling someone what is good/bad with their sig?

No we won't lighten up and no we won't send private messages we are doing as Faken has asked us and half don't even bother to check private messages

It has nothing to do with bandwidth its common courtesy to the site to read the Forum rules and to help the users still on dial up connections.

We run a strict sig policy... it's either that or we get rid of them completely.

For the sig removal, we add our name when we remove the sig so if the user has an issue, they can contact us. It's tedious enough to remove sigs because people didn't read the rules, I'm not going to ask the admins to also PM people etc... It also shows others that may not be aware that we have a sig policy and should be reading the rules so theirs doesn't get nuked either.
