I've really gotten interested in Terragen now (still going to do 3DS Max, don't worry!). This took me a while because I was expierementing with Rays from the sun. I thought of Heaven's Lake because of the rays shining down on the lake, illuminating only the lake. (This is was more evident in a previous version which I disgarded.) Heres a few statistics too --

Render Time: 3 hours, 28 minutes
Polygons: 4,547,211
Program: Terragen

i think the water should be calmer so it looks more peaceful, also, the camera angle is such that u can see the end of the skydome in the distance. the rays of sunlight look really good tho, are u using the free version or the regular version cause i have the freee one and i didnt know rays of sun were possible there

That is not that great a terragen, it lacks atmosphere, and the lake is too sudden and rash. IF its one of your first kudos then.

I know, its not the best its going to be. I'm trying new techniques, and that is why there are so many small errors. It will be fixed soon.

Very nice. Since it took 3 hours, 28 minutes, its supposed to be really good <_<.

the 3 hours and 28 minutes isnt actual work time buddy...its the time the program took to spit out the final, 3d product...the "Render" time...the worktime on this could be anywhere from and hour to a few days

on to the piece...its not bad, nothing too dynamic or special, i would go with a more interesting atmosphere than just he default settings, though your clouds look very nice....like Jat said, you can see the end of the skydome and the end of the actual terrrain....a way to make the terrain seem like its going on for longer is to use smaller features, but zoom in close so they look bigger, that wa you can have more landmasses etc. without running out of room...

Who said its worktime chum. I just said it took 3 hours and 28 minutes, so if the render is that long, the picture better be good.

Dunno, it just showed up at the end :) i'm making a better piece now.

I think the counter is right when the render finishs, a box pops up and says how long it took and the polygons.
