well its most likely done is photoshop. you would start off by drawing the 4 main blades then start slowly adding the detail. you just gotta be creative.

That is really nice. And i think it is done with maybe 3d max, not photoshop. Maybe it was real pictures and they used photo manipulations.

Looks cool... just draw the shapes with the pentool and color them... then add shades/highlights/details with the softround brush.
It takes time, you dont create this in 1 hour.. prob 10
Its not hard but it takes time :)

no matter how good you are with photoshop if you dont have a bit a flair and artistic talent you will find it quite hard to create stuff like this as well. for example me, i know photoshop like the back of my hand but couldnt get anywhere close to something of this quality. like xander said just draw the shapes, then my advice is that if your bad at brushing give it to him

alot of tools probably mate. pen tool/lasso tool etc for shapes. paint brush and burn and dodge for the brushing. maybe some bevel and emboss. i dunno theres many ways you could go about it really.

start off by making the outline of what you want.
then colour it in with the base colours you want.
then start brushing and burning and dodging to give it shine etc, just like xander said.

takes practice and time so dont be impatient and dont give up after one go.
