I don't know specifically in CD4 because I've never used it, but based on other 3D apps, I'm assuming you used material with some sort of transparency level. Export your render as a 32 bit PNG file and it will retain that transparency when you bring it into Photoshop.when i have made a render in C4D is there a option that i can have a transperation background for Photoshop?
That what you had in mind?

When you have your object ready for rendering, go Render > Render Settings.
Once your in the render settings, do this:
Once thats done, go to the "output" setting in render settings and chage the resolution to whatever you want. Then, go render > render to picture veiwer. Once the render is done in picture veiwer, go File > Save Picture as (in the picture veiwer window) and make sure its saved as a targa. Than open in PS and all you have is the render.

note that if your render is too dark, the wand may cut undesired parts. (eg. dark areas)

The you open it in PotoShop. You do " Window -› Channels"
The you select Alpha and your render should be white.
Then you do Ctrl + Click on tje Alpha channel.
Then you set is back to RGB.
Then Ctrl + C
Then you make a new image in PS with transparant background.
And finaly Ctrl + V
Hope it helped
