I bought a computer from cyberpowersystem on 6/3/05, but it won't ship till 6/26/05. The shipping says 5~10 days. Usually, it would be understandable if this happened once in a while, but for cyberpower, it happens everyday. These people are the worst when it comes to service. I actually bought a computer before this one, and they screwed up on it too. So just incase someone was thinking about buying a pc, i would suggest you go elsewhere than cyberpower (unless your on a budget).

building you PC is the only way to get what you need if you are a gamer or use photoshop or webdesign or whatnot. now the biggest problem with pre-builts like Dell is that they come with almost NO RAM. they advertise an OK computer for 600 dollars then you go to the site to order and you find it has 256 mb RAM and a 20 GB hard drive. By the time you upgrade it, it is 2000 dollars and isnt as good as a 1500 dollar custom self-built PC.

oh and if you had a bad experience once, why did you buy from them again?

Agreed. I built my first few with a friend (that was way back when I knew nothing about computers).
Then I got a few more, all built from a box of bits. They all fit the spec I wanted perfectly, and for the equivalent of about $100.

Not always the case.
I just bought 2 Dell Dimension systems to use as web servers, and they came with 1GB ram and 160GB hdd each. Came to equivalent $1000.
I'm very impressed with them.

But as you say, it's generally best to build your own systems.
I don't know anyone (that might be a lie. I think there's one person) who hasn't built their own system. And since parts are relatively cheap nowadays, and nearly everyone knows how to assemble (if not set up) a computer. It seems illogical to get a shop to put it together for you, or buy a full system (except in the case of something like a G5, where, at least here, you can't find a full system worth of parts), when even people who don't know how to build them probably have a friend who does.
But sure, some people will have to buy prebuilt.

End Babble

my dad built mine, im really happy with it. being a gamer its really good since its an alienware pc with extra fans and 76.3GB. i want more though
But i definetly wouldnt buy a pc from somewhere, building your own is way better if you want everything to be perfect.
