Hi there,

I've been working on a uni project for a while. I modelled this object in Vectorworks, and now i want to animate it in Cinema 4d. I converted to nurbs, exported as a stl with lots of polygons (found this was the best export/import option for smoothness). Now i'm trying to render in cinema with some reflections on, and I keep getting these weird jaggies on the reflective surfaces...

I've messed around with the anti-alias settings and amount of reflection for ages, but i cant get rid of the damn things... I know its probably because the curved reflective surface has slight polygonal ridges (not totally smooth curved surface) but i cant get it any smoother on export (cant afford/install vectorworks to cinema 4d plugin - im just using the software at uni)

Is there any surface smoothing tool in cinema 4d or something to make this curved surface better for reflection? or any other work around??

I've attached an image:

Thanks for any help guys, im desperate.

^^how to phong^^

to phong- right click on your object (cyclinder in this case) and then select cinema 4d tags>phong. if you get wierd shading on the edges of the phonged object just right click on the phong tag and select the limit angle bit ;)

hope that helps :P
