never used dreamweaver4 before but having used photoshop 7 and CS i dont think as a casual user (sorry if im being a bit presumptious there) you will see THAT much of a difference to justify splashing out xxx dollars extra on it.

assuming the difference between dreamweaver 4 and MX is a big one i would say dreamweaver, but thats only my two cents so i would wait for someone with some dreamwever 4 and MX experience to comment first.

its all up to you in the end, personally i usually use notepad but i come to realise lately dw mx is capable of some very powerful stuff and would consider buying it now.

Get PS CS, it will be so much more worth the money.

Learn HTML in depth, practise coding in a text editor, and you won't have to splash out anything on something like DW. I've used the new dreamweaver, keep your current version if you don't want to code yourself.

Iv heard that if u only use PS for graphics there isnt much of a difference, and the photoediting side is better in CS

yeh syndrome thats what im talking about, it all depends what you use it for, if you just make simple-ish graphics for the web and/or your into brushing theres no point in upgrading to CS really.

I do regular graphic design work and I'm happy with PS7... Maybe download the trial versions and see which one you like the most?

i think general opinion is not to bother with cs if your only into web graphics and the like, but id look into what mx can offer you over 4 before you jump into buying that.

if the difference between cs and 7 is minimal it could be the same for dreamweaver...you might get some more tools but you might not need them or even be able to use them. you might be best saving your money all together and waiting for something else to come along?

sorry if im patronising you here but i really dont know what level you are at so im just assuming your the same level as most of us on here.

most likely yeah, but if lysha has the money and is honest enough to buy one legally then respect to her.

i know its completely irrelevant to the topic but if a company gets caught using PS illigally they can get fined up to 40,000 USD? which is probably a good enough reason to buy a legal copy cus i can imagine they wouldnt be too happy with anyone having pirated ones full stop :)

(btw, this is a non warez forum, so i wouldnt think discussing and encouraging people to get a pirated copy was appropriate. just a heads up.)

Thank you for reminding him of this :)

Talking about warez or anything illegal is ground for immediate ban. Just something to keep in mind
