Need 3d max tutorials

Hello, I am new to 3D graphics and i need some detalied 3d studio max tutorials.
I don't know how to begin by modelling a creature.I also need to animate it after.
Shold i use NURBS or POLIGONS...which is better.

its a personal preference, nurbs are way better for creating organic surfaces, u might wanna try something less difficult than creating a creature since u are just starting.

here is a good poly modeling tut, it got me on my way with max, but i dont use it anymore, i use maya

this tut is great if ur just beginning in 3ds max, also since ur just beginning, make sure to take notes and try to understand what your doing, there is no point in following instructions if u dont kno why you are doing it.

although this tutorial doesent really cover animating, this should get u atleast familiar with the max interface. if you want to animate character do a google search for IK solvers, or Character Rigging. you might want to familiarize yourself with the program before u do this because these are fairly advanced topics
