recent developments in apple technology seems to steer to the next digital revolution...

The massive success of iTunes, with a huge market share.

the next major version (5, which has been prieviewed) can play the new quicktime H.264 format

Quote

QuickTime 7 features an ultra-efficient new video codec called H.264. H.264 delivers stunning video quality at remarkably low data rates, so you see crisp, clear video in much smaller files

Makes me think that the next move will be movie downloads (from itunes stores) - Download, rip to DVD.

Especially when Apple have had their patent for a hand help flat panel device... (a ViewPod)

can't wate

sony have already taken steps to make sure a "movie download" program comes out in the near future - in my opinion apply are pushing high definition video alot, which seems to be the new craze in technology

Wow... a "viewpod" would rock! It'd sit nice with the powerbook I'm getting for college  I'm pretty excited about their move to x86 processors too.. but I'm getting off topic!
