Hey all,

Okay well i have been learning php for the last week and still am of course. Now i am planning to design my site. I do have dreamweaver and know how to use it but i have 2 questions, and both are quite dumb lol.

1.) When making the layout, e.g a nav bar, then a content box, then maybe a news box..what type do you use? i use 'table' obvesly 1rows by 1 colums, and go from there. Now that seems to be the way, or is it "layers" altho i have tried them but they dont quite work

2.) my second dumb question is how can you make corners curved? example of this can be shown here: http://www.4template.../web/2/SW0012BL because when i make mine they all have sharp edges...i guess its made from a photo but how can you keep the image at the bottom left then? or would they whole panel be 1 huge photo?

Well i know it sounds like i dont know much there, but i do know how to use dreamweaver i just dont want to spend hours and hours on it then find out i have used the wrong tool...

thanks all

yer i generally dont use layers most websites are made up of tables........to answer your second question

i made this ages ago for one of my first sites...there is a much better way of doing it but it is much more time consuming and it only really increased the loading time so i couldnt really be bothered with it

Firstly to make a decent weblayout you'll need to get a decent image tool such as Photoshop or Fireworks.

To answer you question how to make rounded cournser on your table check this out

Also about what type to use to layout webpage content, if your not good at layers stick with tables. But a good way is to use div tags and using CSS to position them. There are plenty of tutpoials out there for that.
