I am really interested in designing in pixel art, i am gonna be using a mac and therefore dont have th e basic MSPaint which is ideal for drawing in the pixel format.

i have read many tutorials that say they use Photoshop but when i start i get all blurred lines and not the blocky look that i am after. Can anyone point me in the right direction so that i can set up photoshop to work as a basic programme like MSPaint?

any help is great ,thanks

dont use the line tool. use the pencil tool at 100% hardness at a 1px diameter.

this will turn off anti-aliasing so u can create 1 pixel lines, however as said before u can also use the pencil tool to create 1 px lines. (hold shift to drag straight lines)

yeah, pencil tool rocks when it comes to pixel art. if you hold shift you can also make a 45 degree straight line.
