The problem is you have it on the font(The T icon), instead of the Brush(Brush icon). I hope that solves the prob buddy, hehe, you new to photoshop? You should go check out some tuts bud! They'll help you and anyone else here out with future needs.

hehehe i had that problem once when i first started photoshop. It was funny when i found out.
