Just looked at that, i had to make the canvas larger to allow for the shadow but when i add the shadow nothing appears

Have you tried changing the settings and colour to see if it has any effect?

Yeah i did have a play with it but no luck.
It did say the layer was locked and would not allow me to unlock it, so i made a copy as well but still no luck.
However it was quite late when tried it so will try it today when a bit alert.
will post my results.
cheers

Righto, Found the problem.
- From the beginning i have an image say 900px x 900px which i want a drop shadow on.
- so what i did was i made the canvas 1000px x 1000px to allow for the shadow.
BUT
- when the shadow is applied its attached the canvas edge, however if i put a drop shadow on one that does not have the extended canvas then i cant see the shadow.
Any ideas how i get the result i want?
cheers
