I've seen so many nice sites with cool borders, but I have no idea how to make those...

I've looked on P2L, Good Tutorials, everywhere... ;)

It's just gradients ;)

That's all it is, a repeated gradient. Blending options ;)

Sometimes people like to take samples from other pictures and stretch them out to make borders.

Thats one of the eaiser ways to do it, you can also just use the gradient tool.

i use drop shadow for mine. i set the opacity to 40 or lower, and then for the angle of the shadow, it's 0 for the left bar, and -180 for the right bar.
