alright, its about 30 min later from me trying to figur out how to save this image, i'v trid just saving it with all the layers, i'v tryed copying it into one layer with a tranparent backbround, but every time i go to save it, it turns the drop down shadow part into just a huge black blocks.

i'm making an image thats 88x31 (affiliate image/banner)

heres the image saved in png form (i was hopping it had transparent levels too.. but it didn't)

Posted Image

thanks for any input!

(reason i want the drop down to be visible is so i can have the affiliate on any color and it will still look the way it does with the shadow.)

PNG and GIF have the ability to be transparent, i think you can just cut the layer (the blue background) away from the image you want then just reapply the image's layer style in which case it would be drop shadow

use the pen tool to cut the background away from the blue backgroud
there is many tutorials on how to cut out images

ps. you can have a drop shadow with GIF or PNG because they both support transparrency

good luck!

The image works how it is now. The bg is already transparent. The image looks fine on any color bg, try it!

IE has a blue background because it doesn't fully support PNG transparency ;)

PNG's alpha transparency works in IE just gotta do a few workarounds:
http://koivi.com/ie-png-transparency/
http://www.alistapar...les/pngopacity/
That is if you want to go through all that trouble. :)
