Wow, some of your work I like and the rest... Eh, I don't particularly like. The best I think you have done is Claw, and the one titled "Photoshop illustration".

Silwolffe, I'm pleased that you find some of the illustration to your liking. As for the rest, well, you can please some of the people some of the time. No biggy. Keep an eye on it though, I'm sure I'll be posting some more things you'll enjoy. Question though, is it the subject matter or the execution that bothers you?

Well the only real problem of prominance is that I can easily differ some of you work from being designed in photoshop with filters, to something of higher impact value that does NOT look like it was designed in Photoshop (even if I know that all your work is a result from Photoshop). E.G I personally dislike your 'organic' piece, as I can easily see some of the filters you executed in photoshop (I.E. Polar Coordinates), as well as 'gothic teck illustration'. Other than those few pieces, I really enjoy looking at your work. Some make me wonder how you could do it with Photoshop.

You are a purist. (not a bad thing) and I appreciate your critique. I actually don't like some PS tools and effects myself and seldom use them in 'commercial' work. I started this thread in another forum and was dealing with the subject of textures. (the first post was the claw) Then it got to the point that I became a source of entertainment, so I'm entertaining. I post a new piece every couple of days. The purpose being served isn't so much 'instructional' as it is for the 'art' of it. I qualified the whole venture a while back by stating " some of you will like what I do, some of you won't". I am not, nor do I claim to be, a Photoshop whiz. I'm an illustrator, I happen to use PS as one of my many tools.
It's like music, You never like all the songs on a cd. If I can get your attention with one of twenty images, I've succeeded.

I'm only a purist when it comes to commercial quality work that must meet a client’s criteria, but on someone's personal artwork I cannot truly explain what needs to be done as it's their own creation. I like your work, but those two pieces just jumped out at me because I could tell they were photoshopped; not something I enjoy in a 'pure' Photoshop image. So, having this be a comment and critique thread on your work, I thought I would make it aware of what I think. I think your other images are spectacular, especially 'claw'. It's my favorite out of all your designs.
I hope to see more quality work from you.

These little illustrations are of little consequence. I'll do some posts showing how this type of illustration is applied to print projects and screen. I've got a 520 page book in now that I need to pre-flight and correct. so I'll post in a few days.
