I was thinking of using the Cute FTP program. I was just wondering if it is safe to use or will people be able to get into my computer or not while using the program.

Cute FTP is one of the bests, that is what I think personally. Never tried it though, I am not that big on putting my websites on the web. But, from what they say, security is extremely high.

its not safe, it can be exploited, i wouldn't use it, i'm a part of a hacking site which teaches you how to hack so that you can make sites more secure, and cuteFTP is one of the most easy to exploit

So is there a news article on this somewhere? And no not referring to your hacking site either.

What about using Dreamweaver to upload the files. Is that safe or not.

DW and CutFTP should both generally be safe programs, however if you're running a good firewall it shouldn't matter.

If you're that concerned about it, see if your host allows sftp connections  And buy a good firewall B)
