Finally Creating my Website.. Need some suggestions

Hey All, I've been around here for 3 years now and I am finally taking the plunge and creating my website. I've already got my domain name and I already have a few tutorials put on a blogspot that I setup over the summer just a placement for my site. Now I am at the point were I am working on my own template and I am pretty sure that I am going to use WordPress and I am going to skin it with my own artwork. Also on a side note I am looking for some affiliates if anyone wants to share some free advertising
