Looking for some print advice / help!

I have been searching around for a while, and I'm having an issue finding a good way to print a brochure / document that I've created in Photoshop CS5.

I'll admit, it's a big document, there are a few that are as many as 20-30 pages, some with tables, vector shapes and lines, etc., and I cannot figure out a good way to process it into a PDF format that is a decent size, loads properly, and is printable. The one(s) that I have made are rather large until you knock the quality down a lot, and even then they seem to load slowly and kinda lag as you are scrolling through them. The biggest problem, however, is that it's extremely slow when printing, and I'm not sure why.

What I've done is created the pages separately, then put them all together in Acrobat X Pro and used the reduced size option. Each page from Photoshop in the PDF format is roughly 1 meg, so about 20-30 megs total, then the reduced size version winds up about 5 mb or so.

Right now I'm trying to see if I can solve this problem by either saving them with different settings in PS CS5, or perhaps doing something different in Acrobat X, but I have yet to come up with a solution.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I have considered trying Adobe InDesign for this, as it sounds like it may be a better option for printing, brochures, etc. Does anyone have any experience with InDesign for this type of work? Any input is much appreciated, I really would like to make this so it's not such a pain! Oh and one last minor thing - it looks as if mobile devices like iPhone and Androiod users cannot view these PDFs - they just come up blank, and I'm not sure why this is.

I can't really help, but i can at least give you a reason why the pdf's are so huge: They are likely being saved in an image format due to their coming from photoshop. So if you use some tool that is designed to build pdfs, you can probably embed actual vectors/text and significantly reduce the file size.
