I am doing a big project for my current college. I am doing the PE Departments website, they were not happy with their current site so i am going to be doing their new one. Lets just say it is a very big project. I've finished the design of the home page so wanted to get a but of crit back on it.

The 4 images (staff, student, tour and teams) are temp until i get images to replace them.

something is missing on the layout..
at first view.. it looks kind of boring.. maybe work on the graphics a bit.. the layout of the website (setup and placement of nav) is ok.
maybe change those 4 big buttons in the middle to something more attractive.

The graphics in the bg are blurry. They need to be redraw if you can't find a better quality pic. The Staff Area, Sports Tour,Student Are, and Teams buttons need to be centered with the rest of the layout. The 2 on the right cover up the logo and it just looks weird in that position. It seems a little flat to me. I think it would look better if you gave the 4 buttons a different look. Other than that, it looks nice.

The text is a little boring and the copyright-texts you could use usual text to instead of pictures.

yea i've fixed the logo, did it as the original size and i feel it looks better now, also i am working on centering the images and the look of them, explained already

The layout looks indeed a bit boring at first view, when I read your post I was expecting something with more life. But it is totally OK. In my Firefox 1.5 the big images (Which I agree to the previous posts that they are dull.) are not centered with the design, but overlaps.

i'm quite shocked reading 'farnborough' school as I went to Farnborough school... but in Nottinghbam not Farnborough

I like that layout.. but i'm using Firefox 1.5 and I see the pictures are aligned to the left but the layout is centered.... that needs changing :blush:
