And a link to the wireframe.
After playing a little with the demo version of C4D a couple of months ago, I decided to take a dive into the deep and bought myself the Studio XL bundle two weeks ago.
I did the duckrace tutorial that came with the package and several others that were provided on the discs. Now I thought it was time to start my own project and I'm taking a shot at the Mercedes SLR 2005.

Thanks for the nice comment, BeaverElfeater. Doesn't mean this one will be good though.
Here's an update. Got some work done on the hood, the nose and started working on the side of the car.

Maya! I've struggled with the demo once... Too complicated and too many buttons for my little brain. So I can't help ya with that.
Time to update again. Since I've been figuring out how to get nice clean edges where the different components meet, there's not a whole lot done this time around.

Haven't really thought about a color yet. I think silver will do just fine... but I can experiment a little with other colors. Any preferences?
Thanks Mooey. I hope you're right
Here's another update. Worked on the side of the car some more and added a door. I might post another update in a few hours.

Paintjobs are something for when the modeling is done... I think. I might spend some time tomorrow to get a good paint material.

Up it one more and put me driving!
Should the vent things on the side go through to where the engine would be, rather than be solid?
Its looking great so far! Keep us posted!

Due to some activities during the weekend and today I didn't have a lot of time to model. I've changed quite a bit of the mesh, not very noticeable. So it's a small update but with a better mesh.
This is what I did:
- worked on the door / windows
- added a crease on the nose where the logo should be
- added a crease on the trunk together with the brakelight in the middle
- added the exhaust pipes on the side
