I'd been browsing the P2L forums and after a couple of days trying to register here I am. If you'd like any further information (ie. background) please add me to msn (that's dig ital mon kee / hotma il . co m ) and I'll provide further guidelines. Mods, if I've posted this in the wrong place or broken any forum rules, please let me know - I've read the rules etc and I guessed this was the best place to post it from the other posts in this forum.
So without further ado I announce the competition. A webshop selling home spa products (ie. nice, natural smelly stuff) needs a logo. The prize (assuming there's a worthwhile winner) is 100 pounds sterling or the equivalent in US monies. The text: simply spa. (.co.uk is optional.) The style: on a white background, natural, not over-complex or fussy. // spoiler, these logos are in the right direction, but not quite good enough. The blue one doesn't say 'spa' enough, the brown one isn't 'fresh' enough. ![]() ![]() These are nice, but aren't enough to create an enduring brand, or work up a site from. You might not want to look at them. Having seen the P2L logo challenge, I'm hoping for similar qualities. Competition Guidelines 1. Please reply with your logos in this post, by msn or by email (john dot hancock at hancock consulting dot com dot ay you - yes that's an aussie address) 2. Please watermark if you don't trust me. I am a new member around here. 3. Please be prepared to endorse the legitimacy of this competition after you've been paid (ie. post here letting everyone know you did get paid. 4. Final logo(s) will need to be in a scalable form. This isn't 100% set in stone, if you can't provide a png/eps etc or high res image then please let me know with your logo design. 5. Deadline is Saturday 26th August 2006, 12:00 AM Australian Eastern Standard Time. (that's UK+9 at the moment) 6. Prize is 100GBP or your currency equivalent. This will be paid by cheque if you have a UK bank account, otherwise by paypal etc. 7. All artwork must be original and/or be free of copyright, except regarding your intellectual property rights - the prize will require transferral of your rights as the author of the work to hancockconsulting.com.au. 8. If none of the logos here are deemed appropriate for the company, full reasons and feedback will be provided and the competition will be extended for a further seven (7) days. It is my intention to run further logo competitions assuming the success of this one - next one will start in 3-4 days if there are a few good responses to this one in that time. Good luck, and This post has been edited by Discontinuity: Aug 11 2006, 09:31 PM |

I have a suggestion to the designers entering this contest. Don't look at the sample logos. They are examples of what they do not want their logo to look like.
If I had the skill I'd try something smooth with a bit of a wavey feel to it. Maybe a wavey palm tree drawing but one thats not too bold. I expect something good out of mattyk and griffin if they enter this. Good luck to everyone who enters and discontinuity on finding the winner. Yeah, I didn't really mean anyone was going off the current examples. I'm just saying that they're looking for something more that they can really brand. You're three entries so far are good but I bet you can do better Good luck. |
