To help some of you that are confused as to why your tutorials are being declined, this is an active list of tutorial types that are currently being declined on the spot because we already have loads of them in the database, or they are so basic that it's not a tutorial we want. Tutorials on the following subjects will probably be declined unless they are absolutely extraordinary! (Even then it probably won't get through)

Adobe Photoshop or Image Ready:

- Sigs (This includes grunge sigs, tech sig, and any other general sig guides)
- Blending (How to blend images into a background)
- Multi-colored backgrounds
- Grunge Backgrounds
- How to create Shine and Gloss
- Scanlines or patterns
- How to cut out an image from a background
- Text and/or Image reflections
- "Blended" text that is used in many grunge sigs
- Blast Effects
- Twirls, basic portals and other spinning effects
- Animated shine or glints
- Fading text
- Filter effects like turning a lens flare into a swirling background
- Turning a color photo into a black and white image or isolating colors in a photo
- Changing Eye Colors
- Turning a Photo into a sketch or drawing
- Drawing Tentacles
- Scan bars or faded bars
- Animated Rain
- 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.. pixel borders
- Tech style borders
- Dreamy or Angel photo effects
- Installing Brushes

Cinema 4D:

- Spikey Renders
- Generic Abstract Renders

HTML:

- iframes
- Basic guides to tables, images, hyperlinks etc...

PHP:

- Using includes
- Basic email forms
- How to generate user stats like referrer, IP, browser etc...
- Basic hit counters
- PHP Navigation like index.php?page=blah etc...
- Basic tutorials and "introductions" to PHP

SPECIAL NOTE FOR CODING:

We are no longer going to accept tutorials on PHP, ASP, HTML, javascript etc... that are simply code snippets and don't explain what the code actually does. No one learns anything by just copy/pasting code snippets, so please explain what your code does so it's actually a tutorial and not a free script.

This list is updated on a regular basis. Please remember we are looking for unique tutorials... not the same concepts repeated over and over again.

If you already have accepted tutorials in the system, go to your webmaster page and it tells you how many tutorials you have in the approval queue. When Jay is done twodded, he'll fix it so that you see this even if you don't have approved tutorials in the system yet.

You can check the FAQ and Help section for this information and much more HERE.

Why don't you guys just make it say like at the bottom of every source site, a list of what tutorials haven't been approved yet?

i've submitted several completely original tutorials several times that arent on that list. yet they always get rejected. all the tutorials are very good too. i believe a few of them are video tutorials that are hosted on deviant art, and the link on the forums simply sends you to deviant art. would that be the cause of the rejection?

I think you kind of should, it would show that you atleast looked at the tutorial (yes you guys probably do look at them and again you get a lot of tutorials a day, but I find that if you sent an e-mail saying you declined somones tutorial is a sign of respect).

With 300 tutorials submitted a day, that's a lot of emails lol!

That's why you guys can look at your approval queues.

Sorry guys... if your tutorials are being declined, then they aren't up to snuff. Tutorials hosted on DA are usually declined because they cut the file off if it uses too much BW.

We don't delete tutorials once they are accepted unless they are a rip. You should be contacting us via the contact form if there's a problem with your listing and we'll look at it as soon as we can.

Faken, I think thatīs a good policy youīre having, disallowing more tutorials on the same topic over and over again.

Anyways, Iīve submitted (and got accepted) a tutorial here before, and thrice more not so long ago (they are probably still in queue), and I saw you guys mention the "approval queue". Either I am starting to go blind or itīs just because Iīm awfully new around here, but where can I find that queue? I donīt remember registering anywhere on P2L before submitting my tutorials so I also wonder how they can be linked to me (and I guess they arenīt).

The queue is what newly submitted tutorials go into before they're approved ;)

Faken, please dont double post :):P Anyway, i think this is a good idea. Although i too have different views, i would like some tutorials to be removed from that list above, however... t'is not my decision

about the email thing...i reckon a cool idea would be when people submit tutorials...that they have to put in their email...and then u could have a button that u click when u decline their tutorials and it sends an automated email to them telling that their tut was declined.
is that unrealistic or not? cos i dont know

I submitted a tutorial by not being logged in, does it matter if you logged in or not ... or if you logged in you can see the waiting list or something. (My tutorial has not been accepted yet, where you check your tutorial by the source url, it has a Big Red X ... no clue why it was declined .. was a Gimp Tutorial that no one has made yet.)
